Ian Fry is an Austin, TX-based percussionist, musical director and non-profit executive director. His Texas-state non-profit and performing ensemble, All Rhythms, has been providing varied enrichment programsto the Austin area since 2012. Ian has played with many artists from Andrea Bocelli to Luis Conte, the Canadian Brass and Jason James Richter, and many, many more. He was blessed to be nominated for two Grammys as musical director of Tortilla Factory under Tony "Ham" Guerrero, and his time with Leaf Clive Phillips was formative. More about Ian: He's been a percussion substitute for the Austin Symphony since 2012, released an online video course with Luis Conte, and plays with multiple groups in Santiago de Cuba when he visits. He plays with Conga San Agustín, with whom he played redoblante in carnaval of 2019, and received an award for playing 3-2 bell with Conga San Pedrito in carnaval 2018. He was honored to take part in bembes in Santiago de Cuba for Día de Santa Barbara in December of last year. |
